Hi everyone, I hope you all are doing well! In this blog I will tell you the story of how my kitties came into my life 馃惥 It was March 2019, I was having a really hard time in my life.. When I was in the backyard of my house, and I heard some high-pitched meows sounding from somewhere. I told my mom about this and together we started looking for where those meows were coming from, until we saw 4 little kittens almost newborn under some boards that were in the same yard, they were sooo cute omg. At that moment the first thing I thought was "we will have to take care of them if their mother cat does not come back", but luckily after a while the mother cat, who is a feral cat who does not like humans, came to take care of her babies, which also didn't liked humans. They spent like a month under those boards until they grew a little, then the mother cat moved her kittens to the roof of a warehouse so that they were all safer from any danger. Months passed, and the kittens bec...

Private education in Chile

Hello there!馃檶 In this blog I will comment on my opinion about the private education system of Chile through the question: do private schools offer higher quality education or are they just prestigious? First of all, I think it is necessary to distinguish that in our country there are private schools for the middle class, where you must pay, however, it is a "a little lower" amount, and there are also for the highest class, which are very expensive. In my experience, I was able to attend a low-profile, private-subsidized school (although it was more private, lol), where you had to pay a monthly fee of $100.000 pesos, which is not accessible to all people. Even so, it seems to me that the education received in these types of establishments was NOT of good quality, since there were many deficiencies in basic elements that would allow a comprehensive development of the students such as, the existence of a student center. Therefore, it seems to me that the lesser-known and middle...

Is religion important in people's lives?

Hello everyone, in this blog I will write about religion and my personal thoughts about this deep topic. Do I think religion is important in people's lives? Honestly, I do not belong to or identify with any religion (at least the best known in our country), however I believe that there is some "higher" energy in some plane of the universe. And it seems to me that for human beings this need to believe something or have faith is very important, therefore in my opinion religion is important in people's lives in order to satisfy that need to believe in something higher. I have been able to witness how many people feel that their religion and devotion motivate them to do positive activities such as volunteering, helping people in need, etc. and from that point of view it is a contribution to society. On the other hand, it is inevitable to mention some points that seem negative to me, such as that there are very extreme religions that limit the freedom of every human bein...

Healthcare system in Chile

Imagen
Hi there! In this blog I will give my point of view about the topic of the Healthcare system in Chile and how -in my opinion- this is promoted by the government. We all know that in our country we have a public system and also a private one, but there is a big difference between them. In my opinion, the private healthcare system is pretty good BUT is expensive because you have to pay for a health plan also known as Isapre (and pay even more if you don’t have Isapre), and not everyone can get into it. On the other side, the public healthcare system which is administered by the ministry of health, is quite problematic because it often has a high demand of attention for patients, and also a lot of negligence because it is saturated and that system has flaws. I had a close experience of the public healthcare system, about a great-aunt who was elderly and had different diseases. She was registered in public health, during her last days of life she was complicated by her diseases and r...

Is voting an important responsibility of a citizen?

I will begin by giving a brief description of the concept of civic duty and citizens' rights. Civic duties are all the actions that a citizen who is part of a society must fulfill, and they are fundamental for the proper development of a country, and rights are guarantees that the constitutions of all countries assure their inhabitants by the fact of living in society. So, the voting is considered primarily as a right of each person, but also as a civic duty. From my point of view, attending and participating in the voting is an important responsibility that all inhabitants should fulfill, since it can define the future of our country and also the quality of life of all of us citizens. However, I think that the "motivation" and enthusiasm for exercising this duty -which today in our country is not an obligation- , is a little low. Here I go in the deep. For me, all that collective demotivation that we can see in Chileans, especially regarding issues of trusting politicia...
